President Bola Tinubu has traveled from the United Kingdom to France during his ongoing two-week vacation, a move that has sparked discussions among the public. In response to the reactions, the Presidency clarified that Tinubu, who remains on leave, is free to travel wherever he chooses during his personal time.

According to a statement by Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Tinubu’s vacation, which began on October 2, is part of his annual leave. The President is using this period as both a working vacation and a retreat to reflect on his administration’s economic reforms.

On Friday, President Tinubu departed the UK for Paris, France, with Ibrahim Kabir Masari, Special Assistant to the President on Political and other matters, confirming the trip. Masari shared on his verified X account (@KabirIbrah64) that he had visited Tinubu at his private residence in the UK, where they had a productive discussion before departing for France to attend an important engagement.

“Today, I had the honor of visiting President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR at his private residence in the United Kingdom. After engaging in productive discussions, we departed for Paris, France, for another important engagement,” Masari wrote.

Addressing concerns over Tinubu’s movements, Onanuga reassured the public via his X account, emphasizing that the President is not confined to the UK during his leave. “President Tinubu is on leave for two weeks. He is not restricted to the UK. It is his private time. He can go anywhere he desires. He is still observing his leave,” Onanuga stated.
