Trump Names Tom Homan as U.S. Border Czar

President-elect Donald Trump has officially appointed Tom Homan, his former acting Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as the “border czar” in his upcoming administration. The announcement, made via Trump’s Truth Social platform on Sunday, highlighted Homan’s strong stance on border security.

“I am pleased to announce that the former ICE Director and staunch advocate for Border Control, Tom Homan, will be joining the Trump Administration to lead our Nation’s Borders,” Trump said in his post.

In his new role, Homan will oversee a broad range of responsibilities, including maritime and aviation security, as well as the management of deportation operations—a key component of Trump’s immigration strategy. Homan’s selection was widely expected, given his extensive experience in immigration enforcement and his alignment with Trump’s goal to carry out one of the largest deportation operations in U.S. history.
