The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to whistleblower and journalist Isaac Bristol, who the Nigerian police identified as the operator behind the PIDOMNigeria account on X (formerly Twitter). Bristol faced serious allegations including money laundering, unauthorized possession and distribution of classified documents, and cybercrime.

In a case that drew significant public attention, Justice Emeka Nwite approved bail set at N5 million, with the requirement of one surety for the same amount. This decision followed a motion filed by Deji Adeyanju, who led Bristol’s legal defense. Part of the bail conditions also includes Bristol surrendering his passport to the court.
