15 Arrested for Internet Fraud in Makurdi, Benue by EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 15 individuals suspected of being involved in internet fraud in Makurdi, Benue State. The arrests were carried out by operatives from the Makurdi Zonal Directorate on Abu King Shuluwe Street, Akpehe, following credible intelligence regarding their fraudulent activities.

According to an EFCC statement released on Tuesday via X, the operation led to the seizure of significant items, including two vehicles, five laptops, and 17 mobile phones. These items are believed to be linked to the suspects’ alleged involvement in internet fraud.
The EFCC confirmed that the suspects would be charged in court once investigations are concluded. The ongoing efforts to tackle cybercrimes and online fraud highlight the commission’s commitment to addressing financial crimes in the country.
