The family of the late Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Umo Eno, First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, has announced her burial arrangements, which will take place on November 29, 2024. A funeral service will be held at her country home in Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium LGA, with Governor Umo Eno, the family, and the state government overseeing the plans to honor her lasting impact.

The announcement was made on Friday by Enobong Uwah, the Secretary to the State Government and Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, who expressed the family’s deep appreciation for the outpouring of support from across the nation. “We are deeply thankful for the overwhelming prayers, tributes, and comforting words during this profoundly difficult period,” Uwah shared.

The late Pastor Patience Eno passed away on September 26, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and dedication to both her faith and her community. Known for her selfless service and support of the people of Akwa Ibom, her passing has created a significant void that is felt deeply across the state. Governor Umo Eno described his wife as a “pillar of strength” and praised her unmatched devotion to her family and the people of Akwa Ibom.

To honor her, a series of events has been scheduled, starting with the opening of the Mourning House on November 20, 2024. Condolence visits will continue until November 26, culminating in a Night of Worship and Tributes on November 22 at the International Christian Worship Centre in Uyo. This special event will feature songs of worship and heartfelt tributes from those whose lives were touched by Pastor Eno’s kindness.

Dr. Frank Ekpenyong, SSA-ICT, emphasized, “Her Excellency was a beacon of hope to many, and this night of worship is a small testament to the light she brought to countless lives.”
