The Nigeria Police Force has made significant strides in combating electoral violence in Edo State, successfully arresting two political thugs, Edwin Obanor, 43, and Audu Tajudeen, a 41-year-old member of the PDP from Ugbogbo Quarters, Igara Akoko.

Following a tip-off regarding armed individuals plotting to disrupt the upcoming elections, police operatives launched a swift operation. They apprehended Obanor, a leader of an armed group, in Oredo Ward 4 around 9 PM, and later arrested Tajudeen in Igara Akoko on the eve of the election. A search of their belongings revealed three cut-to-size, locally fabricated pistols in Obanor’s possession and one locally made gun found with Tajudeen.

These arrests underscore the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful electoral process.
