Edo State’s newly inaugurated Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has vowed to honor the trust the people placed in him, ensuring he will not betray their confidence. During his inauguration, Okpebholo emphasized that the welfare of Edo citizens would remain his top priority throughout his administration.

To guide his leadership, the governor unveiled his “Five-Point Agenda,” a strategic plan designed to drive the state’s economic growth and improve living standards for all.

His agenda focuses on five critical areas: Security, Infrastructure and Road Development, Affordable Healthcare, Water and Food Sufficiency, and Value-Driven Education. These initiatives are aimed at ensuring a stable, prosperous, and sustainable future for Edo State.

Okpebholo, who triumphed over 16 competitors in the September 21, 2024 election, defeated his closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He was sworn in alongside his deputy, Dennis Idahosa, a former National Assembly lawmaker representing Ovia Federal Constituency. The duo is set to spearhead the state’s growth and development under their new leadership.
