Kwara Governor Swears in 16 Newly Elected Local Government Chairpersons

Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq officially inaugurated 16 newly elected local government chairpersons and their vice chairpersons on Monday, encouraging them to practice prudence, actively engage with their communities, and prioritize the well-being of all residents.

The chairpersons were elected during the recent polls organized by the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission, which took place on Saturday. In his remarks at the swearing-in ceremony held at the Government House in Ilorin, Governor Abdulrazaq extended his congratulations to the new officials, their families, and all stakeholders involved in their election success. He urged them to set achievable goals, demonstrate fairness, and remain mindful of the economic challenges currently facing the nation.

“As the first layer of government, be innovative, explore areas for cooperation, and prove to the people that you deserve this esteemed position,” the governor emphasized.

Kwara State party chairman Sunday Fagbemi acknowledged the citizens for their support and praised the governor’s commitment to public welfare, stating, “We have laid a solid foundation for the progress of Kwara.”

Majeed Podo, the chairman of the Ilorin South Local Government Council, spoke on behalf of his colleagues, promising that they would work tirelessly for the benefit of the people in their respective communities.
