The Kwara State government has issued a firm warning to all state employees: without a valid Kwara State Residents Registration Number (KWSRRN), no salaries or bonuses will be disbursed from November 2024 onward. This directive, announced by Dr. Hauwa Nuru, the Commissioner for Finance, underscores the state’s commitment to accountability and efficient resource management.

In a statement made on Monday in Ilorin, Dr. Nuru emphasized that the KWSRRN registration requirement is a legal mandate overseen by the Kwara State Residents Registration Agency (KWSRRA). This agency, responsible for gathering data on all state residents, assigns each individual a unique identity, which the government uses for effective planning, improved resource distribution, and enhanced public safety measures.

Dr. Nuru stated, “As part of the administration’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and fair resource allocation, all employees, including those within the 16 local government areas, must complete the KWSRRA registration process. Effective from November 2024, workers who fail to comply will forfeit their salary and bonuses.” This measure affects all state employees, ensuring that only registered individuals will receive payments.

The commissioner further highlighted that this initiative plays a vital role in creating a precise database, which in turn aids payroll management, enhances service delivery, and strengthens trust in government systems. All unregistered employees are advised to visit the nearest KWSRRA registration center to complete their enrollment. Through this initiative, the Kwara State government aims to boost both workforce and resident services, demonstrating its commitment to fair and efficient governance.
