Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has revealed an incident involving one of the church’s pastors who was arrested overseas for using the phrase “ladies and gentlemen” during a speech. According to Pastor Adeboye, the simple greeting was flagged as discriminatory because it allegedly excluded individuals who do not identify as either “ladies” or “gentlemen.”

Speaking at the RCCG national headquarters in Ebute-Metta, Lagos, during a sermon titled “My Father’s House,” Pastor Adeboye expressed deep concern over the growing moral decline across the globe. He highlighted this incident as one of many signs of shifting societal values.

The General Overseer also shared another peculiar story about a woman who referred to her dog as her husband. When questioned about her spouse, she described how she took the dog to the vet, explaining that it couldn’t talk but was still her “partner.” Reflecting on such bizarre developments, Pastor Adeboye remarked, “Brethren, we are closer to the end than ever before.”

He used these examples to caution Christians about the eroding moral fabric of modern society, emphasizing the need to remain unwavering in their faith. “The end is nearer than you think,” he warned, encouraging believers to stand firm and resist being influenced by societal changes that contradict biblical principles.

Pastor Adeboye also reminisced about the integrity and reverence for God exhibited by past generations. He called for a return to that level of godliness, stressing that genuine dedication to God’s commandments is critical, especially as Christians prepare for the return of Jesus Christ.

The sermon underscored his message of faithfulness and moral vigilance in a world he described as increasingly adrift from traditional values.
