The Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) is set to commence the airlift of pilgrims to the Holy Land on December 22, 2024, according to a statement by Celestine Toruka, Deputy Director and Head of Media and Public Relations. The announcement was made during a meeting of the Conference of States, which brought together the Chairmen and Secretaries of Christian Pilgrims Welfare Boards from Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), held in Abuja.

Bishop Stephen Adegbite, Executive Secretary of the NCPC, emphasized the importance of dedication in serving the pilgrims and expressed his belief that divine guidance would support those involved in this sacred journey. He also highlighted the Commission’s strong stance against pilgrim abscondment and corruption, reinforcing their commitment to a smooth and transparent pilgrimage process.

Further, Bishop Adegbite extended his appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his leadership, noting that despite numerous challenges, the country remains on the right track. Bishop David Moradeyo, Chairman of the Conference of States, praised Adegbite’s leadership and recognized the importance of the forum in preparing for the pilgrimage. Moradeyo also revealed that the Conference had initiated a call for fasting and prayers to ensure the successful execution of the upcoming pilgrimage.
