LG Poll: Kaduna Electoral Commission Screens 76 Chairmanship Candidates

The Chairman of the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KSIECOM), Hajiya Hajara Mohammed, has announced the successful screening of 76 chairmanship candidates from 10 political parties in preparation for the upcoming local government elections in Kaduna State.
In a press briefing following the screening exercise, Mohammed confirmed that candidates from 10 out of the 19 registered political parties in Nigeria participated in the process. She stated, “The Commission has successfully screened 76 chairmanship candidates.”

The names of the candidates who passed the screening, along with those who were disqualified, will be publicly displayed on September 20, 2024. Mohammed also mentioned that election guidelines would be provided to the registered political parties involved in the election.
The local government election is scheduled for October 19, 2024. In her appeal, Mohammed urged candidates and political parties to adhere to the election guidelines to ensure a peaceful electoral process. She encouraged voters to actively participate in the elections by casting their votes for their preferred candidates.
