Okpebholo Appoints Cyril Oshiomhole as Edo State Health Commissioner

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has nominated Cyril Oshiomhole, a qualified medical doctor, to serve as the state’s new Commissioner for Health. Cyril, the son of former Edo Governor and current senator Adams Oshiomhole, brings a wealth of academic and professional expertise to the position.
A graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he earned his MBBS, Cyril holds a master’s degree in public health with specializations in environmental health, toxicology, and disaster management. His nomination highlights a commitment to improving public health in the state.
In addition to the health commissioner nomination, Governor Okpebholo also appointed Samson Osagie, a former member of the national assembly, as the new Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice. Osagie, who was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1995, has extensive experience in both legal practice and legislative affairs, having served as a member of the Edo State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives, where he held the position of minority whip.

Both Cyril Oshiomhole and Samson Osagie’s nominations will be submitted to the Edo State House of Assembly for confirmation.
Governor Okpebholo also announced the appointment of Musa Ikhilor as the Secretary to the State Government (SGG). With over 11 years of experience in legislative drafting, parliamentary administration, and constitutional law, Ikhilor has a strong background in governance. He also serves as the managing partner of Springfield Legal Consult and is actively involved in social works as an executive director at the Amana Legacy Foundation.
