The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has deployed 1,500 personnel across Ondo State ahead of the upcoming gubernatorial election on November 16, 2024. The initiative, approved by Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, aims to ensure a smooth and orderly election process by enforcing vehicular movement restrictions and maintaining safety across key areas.

In a statement released on Thursday, the FRSC emphasized its commitment to working alongside other security agencies to promote compliance with the movement restrictions. The Corps has mobilized 25 patrol vehicles, seven tow trucks, and six ambulances to manage traffic, assist in emergency situations, and prevent road obstructions during the election day.

Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide stated that the FRSC personnel will not only control traffic but also provide support in rescue operations and ensure the safety of voters. The agency has been instructed to prioritize professionalism and avoid any actions that might compromise voters’ rights.

As the election approaches, the FRSC has called on all voters to cooperate with the deployed officers to help facilitate a free, fair, and peaceful election. The Corps is also urging citizens to adhere to the movement restrictions to avoid disruptions and ensure a smooth electoral process.
