Troops of the Nigerian Army’s Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, have neutralized scores of terrorists during a daring operation in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The operation, launched in response to a distress call from residents and vigilantes in Yar Galadima village, was confirmed on Monday by Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, the Coordinator of the Joint Media Centre for the task force.

The swift response followed an early Sunday attack on the village, where terrorists ambushed the troops at two strategic locations along their approach. “The troops responded promptly to provide assistance and restore peace to the affected area,” Abdullahi stated, highlighting their resolve to protect vulnerable communities.

Lieutenant Colonel Abdullahi reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian Army to eliminating terrorist threats in the North West, emphasizing their determination to ensure lasting peace in the region. This latest success underscores the military’s ongoing efforts to combat insecurity and protect citizens across Zamfara State and beyond.
