Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has expressed heartfelt thanks to Nigerians for their overwhelming support following the death of his wife, Pastor Patience Umo Eno. The governor praised the solidarity shown by people across the country during this difficult time.

During a recent condolence visit to the Governor’s Lodge in Uyo, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu paid tribute to the late Pastor Patience, describing her as a loving, peaceful, and deeply spiritual woman. Tinubu spoke of her admiration for the late First Lady and how she served her people with dedication.

Governor Eno, in a state broadcast titled “A Note of Gratitude,” reflected on his wife’s passing on September 26, 2024, and expressed how much she meant to him. “She was my prayer partner, counsellor, and best friend. I will miss her for a lifetime,” he shared emotionally.

Eno extended his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his comforting words and personal outreach, along with First Lady Oluremi Tinubu for her ongoing support. He also acknowledged the Vice President, Senate President, and several national and state leaders for their condolences and messages of support.

The governor praised Akwa Ibom citizens and Nigerians at large for their prayers, messages, and visits during this time, acknowledging the suspension of political activities in honor of his wife. He assured that the initiatives she had begun, including the Golden Initiative for All (GIFA), would continue in her memory.

Governor Eno also commended security agencies for maintaining peace during this solemn period and called for continued stability as the state approaches local elections.

The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, noted that politics should not divide people in times of grief, saying, “We are all Nigerians, and it’s essential to show love and care when we meet one another.” She offered her continued support to the Eno family, emphasizing that the legacy of the late Pastor Patience would be remembered fondly.
