Ninety-eight delegates, sponsored by the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), have successfully completed a maritime training course at the Joemarine Institute of Nautical Studies and Research in Otomewo, Delta State. The delegates, who participated in a one-month refresher course, gathered for a graduation ceremony on Tuesday, celebrating the completion of their specialized maritime skills training.

The Administrator of PAP, Dennis Otuaro, represented by Igoniko Oduma, the Special Assistant on Media to the Administrator, emphasized that this training is a key part of the PAP’s commitment to developing human capital in the Niger Delta. The course aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s vision for a blue economy, aiming to prepare the delegates for careers in the growing maritime sector.

Otuaro praised the cadets for their commitment and discipline throughout the training, urging them to uphold professionalism as they transition into the maritime industry. He also highlighted the ongoing support from President Tinubu and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, which has been instrumental in the success of the PAP.

The Managing Director of Joemarine Institute, Akpos Epidei, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to conduct the training and recommended further advanced certification programs for the graduates to enhance their maritime careers.

In a show of support, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, represented by Amafini Akemeotubo, acknowledged Otuaro’s leadership in refocusing the PAP’s efforts to better serve the people of the Niger Delta.

Valedictorian Ebi Jackson, who spoke on behalf of the graduates, expressed heartfelt thanks to Otuaro for the invaluable skills gained during the course and the opportunity to contribute to the maritime industry’s growth.
