Federal Government has reiterated its determination to address the ongoing security challenges in the South East, according to the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru. Speaking during an operational visit to Enugu State, Badaru emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu to tackle insecurity across the region.

In a statement issued on Saturday by the Defence Ministry’s spokesperson, Henshaw Ogbuike, Badaru acknowledged the crucial role that security plays in fostering business growth and ensuring peace. “A secure environment is essential for the development of communities and businesses,” he remarked, urging military personnel to continue intensifying efforts to combat insecurity in the South East.

Highlighting the nationwide scope of the government’s security strategy, Badaru reaffirmed that efforts to eradicate insecurity are not limited to the South East but extend across Nigeria. Over the past year, the government has made significant strides in improving safety, with a strong focus on restoring peace in regions affected by unrest.

During his visit to Imo State, Badaru met with Governor Hope Uzodimma, thanking him for his support of the ongoing military operations. The minister expressed optimism about the continued collaboration between the military and state governments in the fight against insecurity, stating, “We are determined to end insecurity in Nigeria.”
