Firm crackdown on environmental violations, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed nine businesses and organizations across Lagos. The operation focused on tackling noise pollution and improper practices that threaten public health and the community’s well-being.

Affected areas include Mushin, Amuwo Odofin, and Okota Isolo, where a mix of businesses and religious centers were found to violate environmental regulations. Among the establishments closed are Daily Bakery, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Gak Universal Allied Limited, and Ideal Standard, along with several others such as Franjane Royal Suites, Golden Haven Resort & Suites, Festival Hotel Conference Center & SPA, FS Service Centre, and Moulin Rouge Ventures at Olivia Mall.

These businesses were shut down for not complying with LASEPA’s environmental guidelines, despite being issued prior warnings. The violations ranged from excessive noise pollution to the improper location of potentially dangerous facilities, both of which pose significant risks to public health.

LASEPA’s General Manager, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, highlighted the agency’s strict stance on environmental protection. “Environmental protection is a shared responsibility. As a government agency, we are committed to enforcing compliance with environmental laws to protect public health and community harmony. Noise pollution and other violations have severe impacts on quality of life, and we will not hesitate to act decisively against offenders,” Dr. Ajayi stated.

Dr. Ajayi also stressed the importance of adopting sustainable business practices and encouraged both businesses and individuals to follow environmental regulations. He called on Lagos residents to report environmental violations through LASEPA’s official channels, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to creating a cleaner, healthier Lagos. This operation has been widely supported by local residents, who see it as a crucial step in tackling urban noise and promoting environmental sustainability.
