On the evening of November 12, 2024, a tragic road accident occurred at Yanfari village in the Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State, claiming the lives of ten people and leaving one injured. The incident took place when a Toyota Hummer bus, traveling from Kano to Hadejia, collided with a stationary trailer.

The Toyota Hummer, with registration number HDJ 631 YDD, lost control and flipped after the crash, resulting in the fatalities of the driver and nine passengers. One additional passenger sustained injuries and was transported to Majia Primary Health Care Centre for treatment.

Confirming the incident, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the Public Relations Officer of the Jigawa State Police Command, shared details in a statement on Tuesday. The police team responded swiftly, evacuating the victims to Hadejia General Hospital, where doctors confirmed the deaths of all ten individuals.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
