Vice President Kashim Shettima has returned to Abuja after attending the inaugural International Exhibition of Extractive and Energy Resources in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. Shettima’s return on Wednesday night via the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport was not accompanied by an official statement.

During his visit to Côte d’Ivoire, the Vice President advocated for stronger governance, greater transparency, and enhanced collaboration among African leaders and industry stakeholders to effectively manage the continent’s resource wealth.

Shettima also reiterated Nigeria’s dedication to fostering an inclusive extractive industry rooted in transparency, regional partnerships, and local capacity development.

The summit, centered around the theme “Policies and Strategies for the Sustainable Development of the Extractive and Energy Industries,” attracted leaders from across Africa who convened to explore innovative solutions for resource management and energy security.
